About the event

The way that we were trained to give teachers feedback creates tension, frustration, and pushback. That’s because we were trained to give too much feedback, our feedback is riddled with educatorese, and our feedback is often vague leaving teachers confused about what to do next.

Builders overcome this by using the Failsafe Feedback Formula which allows them to give teachers simple feedback that addresses a root problem and allows them to see immediate improvement in the classroom.

During this Workshop you’ll learn How To:
  • Quickly diagnose a teacher’s root challenge in 5-7 minutes (no need to spend hours in a classroom and overwhelming teachers with a laundry list of things to implement. Instead, you’ll get teachers working on the ONE thing that will make the biggest difference in their practices so that you can see the biggest results right away).
  • Choose the right feedback conversation for each teacher every single time. That way you can give teachers the feedback they need in the way that they can hear and accept it best. Plus, we’ll show you how you can overcome resistance to feedback and get teachers moving in the right direction right away.
  • Make sure your feedback sticks with the right follow up.  Instead of giving feedback and hoping it works, you’ll have the tools you need to follow up and ensure that teachers implement your feedback effectively.

By the time you’re done, you’ll have everything you need to give teachers feedback that will actually change their practice without pushback, hurt feelings, or blank stares.

But the biggest difference will be in the way that you feel about the feedback process. Rather than feeling like an evaluator who is rushing to get into classrooms and complete formulaic write ups in order to comply with the demands of your district, you’ll start to feel like Marlan who recently told me “I have been frustrated with the observation/evaluation process at our school for years but have never been able to figure out how to change it to be more productive. I am excited to finally have something that feels like it can help! Even though I am considered an evaluator, I want my work to help our teachers get better because I believe that as they grow their practice, our students will grow in their learning as well.”
